INDUSTRIAL & PRODUCTION ENGG DEPARTMENT:
The Division of IPE at KLCE was established in 1980-81 as the first IPE Department in Andhra Pradesh. It started with an intake of 40 UG Students, which presently stands at an in intake of 60 UG Students. The Division has an approved PG Programme in Industrial Engineering with an intake of 18 students.

The Division was first accredited by AICTE-NBA in 2004 for a period of 3 years. IPE Division has since been reaccredited for next 5 year by NBA in 2007.
The Division has dedicated and experienced team 14 Faculty Members with 2 Professors, 3 Assistant Professors and 9 Lecturers. IPE always maintains its Faculty-to Student ratio much better than the prescribed norms. There is two Faculty Member with a Ph.D. and 7 Faculty Members of pursuing Ph.D of whom two are about to submit their Thesis. Remaining Faculty is Post Graduate except one. 4 Faculty Members have also worked in Industry and enhance the learning experience for the Student. IPE Faculty has won Best Teacher Award 5 times in last 3 years. One Faculty Member is a Fellow of Institution of Engineers (India) and also have has been recognized as a Research Supervisor for 2 Universities. He also serves as a Member of Board of Studies at ANU. One Faculty Member has published 3 Text Books and another has applied for a patent on Ergonomical Design of Computer Keyboard. One Faculty Member has experience working with several Sponsored Projects in India and Abroad. IPE Faculty has published several papers in International and National Journals and Conference Proceedings. IPE Division has organized 2 National Level Workshops and 4 National Level Student Technical Meets. IPE has successfully implemented a MODROBS granted by AICTE for modernization of FMS Lab. Condition Monitoring Society of India (CMSI) has established its Local Chapter of Vijayawada at KLCE. IPE Faculty is Members of various National Professional Societies. IPE also promotes professionalism and knowledge among its Faculty of latest on goings in the field through various Faculty Development programs held on campus and else where. The Division holds Orientation Lectures, Teacher Training Programs and Mentoring Programs for its new and Junior Faculty.
There are 175 Students UG Program and graduate with a success rate of 95%. IPE in collaboration with CSS Department at KLCE provides regular classes for all its students to improve their Communication and Soft Skills in a rigorous and well-designed program. Many IPE students attended Paper Presentations at various Colleges and won prizes. IPE also works closely with IPE to provide placement Opportunities and Entrepreneurial Development to all its Final year Student. The Placement rate has been 100% for the past couple of years. IPE Graduates from KLCE are holding responsible positions in India and aboard. IPE students obtain University Ranks frequently and also had shown their mettle at National Level Entrance Examinations Like GATE and International Level Entrance Examinations like GRE and TOFEL.
IPE through its student’s association (IPSA) and student chapter ISTE and through various other guided programs helps its students to participate and excel in various co-curricular and extra curricular activities. The Division arranges for Seminars, Mini Projects, Projects, Industrial Visits, Industrial Training, and Guest Lectures by External Experts etc. for the benefit of its students.
