ABOUT MECHANICAL ENGG DEPARTMENT:
Mechanical Engineering is one of the oldest and pioneering departments of the college and offers both under graduate and postgraduate courses. Well-qualified and highly experienced faculty shoulders the department. The Department boasts of two professors, four assistant professors, one senior lecturer, and eleven lecturers, all postgraduates with specializations in diversified and everlasting fields of mechanical engineering. The specializations are well balanced to cater to the needs of students effectively.

The Laboratories are spacious and are equipped with additional machines and test rigs in addition to the required as stipulated by the curriculum. Qualified and well-trained staff members assist the laboratory work and practical knowledge is given due prominence.
Lesson plans are designed and strictly implemented, to ensure complete coverage of syllabus as per the norms laid by the university. Classroom teaching is enhanced with the help of audio visual aids.
Emphasis is laid on live projects and fabrications. The department has initiated R&D activities through sponsored projects and research promotion schemes (RPS). Faculty members from other colleges are also pursuing research under the astute tutelage of our eminent professors.
The department is in constant touch with industries and signed MOU with three prominent industries. Industrial visits are arranged for the better understanding of the subject through visual observation. Guest lectures are arranged for the formal understanding of methodologies and techniques practiced in the industry.
In addition to the formal education with an intensive practical exposure, the inherent talents of the students are explored and strengthened through regular counseling and personality development sessions, to improve the visualization, presentation capabilities and communication skills.
Students are encouraged and guided to present papers, attend workshops and seminars to get them acquainted with the latest and recent trends in science and technology.
Interviews (campus and off-campus) are arranged on regular basis in coordination with IRD Cells located at Vijayawada, Hyderabad and Chennai. A good number of our students are being recruited by reputed industries.
